Optech, a college centre for technology transfer, is a non-profit organization that aims to revitalize the technology economy in Quebec and Canada. A member of Synchronex (formerly Réseau Trans-Tech), Optech has set itself the mission of supporting the training of highly qualified staff and helping companies identify and develop industrial solutions to resolve problems with the help of procedures or product development in applied optics and photonics. Optech’s mission is in keeping with a sustainable development objective.

Optech can design, prototype and test your optical engineering solutions using the many tools at its disposal, including the skills of its team, its equipment, its network of partners, its tax programs and the subsidies for applied research intended for CEGEPS and CCTT members. Optech’s approach is structured to help industry through its dedicated, personalized service and its intellectual property policies aimed at promoting IP in the private sector.

Optech helps companies specializing in optics/photonics as well as those in such varied fields as aeronautics, the performing arts, green technology and the manufacturing industry.

As part of its mission, Optech is committed to training highly qualified staff among the next generation of scientists. Every year, we help train students by hosting several interns at the college and university level. These interns take part in projects that help them develop their practical know-how and self-reliance. We also welcome high school classes referred by the Relève Technoscience program of the Association pour le développement de la recherche et de l’innovation du Québec (ADRIQ) to transmit our passion for the optical sciences to the next generation.

Sustainable development is at the heart of what we do, and several projects touch on various aspects of responsible resource use, responsible waste management and the minimization of our environmental footprint. If your projects have an environmental component and you plan to develop green technologies, we would be pleased to present the programs available at Optech that will help you implement them.
