Laser Safety Awareness

Lasers are used more and more in the workplace for all kinds of varied applications, including cutting materials, cosmetic and dermatology treatments, surgery, metrology, and applied technology environments. In Quebec, businesses that include lasers in their work environment are required to train their employees in related health and safety issues. This is why we offer laser safety awareness training.

This training covers the basic principles of laser safety for understanding the health issues related to using laser equipment.

The course will broach the following topics:

  • Simple explanation of the way lasers operate. Difference between coherent and incoherent light.
  • Description of the potential injuries due to exposure to a laser beam (eyes, skin) as well as the related risks associated with lasers.
  • Description of the laser classification system and the criteria behind the classification
  • Explanation of protection methods

Cancellation policy

If you cancel your registration within 14 days or more before the training, you will get a full refund. If you cancel 13 days or less before the training start date, a $75 fee will apply.
